Walrus TV Feature: Henry Lewis Tattoos Sylvia Ji
"It takes two people to make a good tattoo."-Henry Lewis
Painter Sylvia Ji shows off some of her tattoos done by her friend and contemporary, San Francisco based artist Henry Lewis. Ji explains her newest choice, why it serves as a self portrait and how it relates to her “one love”—her artwork. Over the course of the tattoo, they recall late night art sessions, whiskey-influenced tattoos, and the downfalls of drinking in Mexico. Watch the interview on Walrus TV.
Henry did my tattoo last weekend at the San Jose Tattoo convention, it was one the craziest experiences I've ever had. Henry is definitely a major figure in modern tattooing and he’s funny as hell!!! The Skull and Sword staff were great and thanks to them I’m now a Morrisey and David Bowey fan… lol
